As I start the new year, often I go back and look at what I did last year and see what I can do differently. This year the word habit comes to mind.
Definition Of The Word Habit: a pattern of behavior acquired through frequent repetition.
Everything that we do is a habit. Our thinking is a habit that controls will we do and how we act in the world.
So this year, I'm looking to create new habits. And new thinking.
So, I went online looking for tools to help me with the creation of new habits. I found one tool that I think will work very well.
But first, some habit theory.
It is said that it takes 21 days to form a habit, which means if you do something 21 times consecutively for 21 days it should be part of your being.
There is a tool I've found called Habitizer.
It actually tracks what I do in a very simple interface and tells me if I'm doing the right things around my new habits and getting things done.
As you can suspect, this is not a complicated tool and doesn't need many instructions.
But, it does looks like it's going to work and that's what I need and want.
So start your year right.
Begin looking at your habits and what you want to change. Find the tool that will help you get it done and use it.
This is another site (ZenHabits) that I found to give me more information about habits, how they work and how to change my thinking with the little things that mean so much.
The best to you in 2008.
Take care,
