About My Online Business…Where Do I Start?

This is a typical conversation:

“I have this website and it is not making as much money as I want…

1. “Where do I start?”
2. “What do I do next?”

are the questions that I hear most from my students.

Here is the simple 5 question answer:

There are only 5 systems that I can see for every business:

• Traffic/Promotion System
• Conversion System
• Feedback / Feed forward System
• Delivery System
• Viral / Referral Systems

The question is… what is not happening with your business.

1. Are you getting people to the site? (Traffic and Promotion)
2. What are they doing after they get there? (Conversion / Feedback / Feedforward)
3. Are they getting the product after they buy? (Delivery / Feedback)
4. Are they happy with the product? (Feedback)
5. Are they helping you get more business? (Viral / Referral)
6. Is your business growing and expanding? (Viral / Referral)

Most people do not have criteria to select what do buy next, do next or plan next.

Use the 6 questions above and you should be able to hone your thinking and actions with your business.

Understand that these are broad questions and there are many details to be handled but at least you will be able to see your business in segments and not this mass of confusion.
