Seeing Opportunities in Your Environment

Observed by David Bullock

Viewing this video this morning, I could not help but think about the opportunities that we have before us.

Knowledge is only one component of success.  Being able to take effective action and then build the structure to hold your idea is critical to your success.
  • Knowledge is step one.
  • Getting an Idea is step two.
  • Building Something is step three.
How many of us stop at getting the knowledge and getting that great idea?

You have to build something that people can use.  That is the story that I gained this morning after watching this video.

I am going to do something different from now on. I am doing many things on a day to day basis that are part of who I am.

I am going to start sharing those “things” that I am doing in the hope that these little things make a difference for the readers of this “blog thingy.”

You can build:
  • Effective Relationships
  • Business Models
  • Communication Skills
Life is not all about business. Life is about living and learning. Most of us are so caught up in the day to day that we don’t stop to really learn how to invent life.
Success Habit: Meet with People Who are Experts in Areas that You are Not
One of my habits is to go to meet with people smarter than me away from the sales forums. Don’t sell me. Show me what you have built.

I am going to the Social Media Summit Of The Year because I am seeing so much change in the social media space right now I need to be around the “real social media experts. People who are leveraging “new media” to create real business.

The dates are in November 15 – 17 in Vegas. I know personally (or know of) many of the folks that are going to be there. Has this been promoted heavily?  Nope. Did you know about it?  Maybe not. What I am finding is that there is a circle of real business owners who actually build businesses and innovate in ways that most can’t even imagine.

Til next time folks…

Great post! I talk to so many people that have an idea in their head and may even know how to go about getting started but never do! Building something really does make all the difference

Enjoyed this post. Great TED talk – stories like this really make you realize that often our 'fortunate lives' are so fortunate we don't need to innovate – and this is a problem. Also reminds me that necessity is the mother of invention.
