Social CRM Explained
Chris Brogan, known as the god father of social media, has done a podcast with Brent Leary. During this interview, they talk about the best practices for social media and how the media is changing in internet time. The podcast is funny and extremely informative for any business owner who is looking to move online.
I learned several things:
- Listening is the key to social media. Listen first. Speak Second
- Blogging works for most every business. You have to innovate.
- Don’t write about yourself.
- Write about the other guy.
- Show them how to make their life better with your insights and information
- Video is the next level. Video review shows work.
- Be authentic. Tell the truth
- more, more….
The most important part is the new word Twebinar to add to your vocabulary.

Thank you sir for the kind words. Chris “keeps it real” for folks who are looking at social media from a purely business perspective. He makes a point that it’s important not to get lost in the thousands of social apps out there.
Experiment a little to kick the tires around. Find out from your good customers what social sites they frequent, and how they utilize them. Begin there to deepen/strengthen current relationships, and to join/start conversations with new folks and see if they morph into meaningful business relationships.
Thanks to Chris for joining me, and to you for hooking us up!

My pleasure Brent. Social CRM looks to be the next level of business application. And you turned me on to the concept. Thanks a bunch.
When the information is solid, it is easy to push it out. I knew the two of you would produce good ideas and usable information. Keep it coming.
